After a hiatus of almost 12 months, fans are allowed back in the cricket stadiums with several Covid-19 protocols. The players have to be doubly cautious about the bio-secure bubble in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
In the recent ongoing match between India and England at the Narendra Modi stadium, an ardent fan breached the security and entered the field to meet skipper Virat Kohli, while he was batting.
However, the Indian skipper spotted him from far away and he immediately took a few steps back, asking the fan to return. On realizing his mistake, the fan turned back and seeing that the entire crowd started cheering.

As part of the bio-bubble protocols, there is a high amount of strictness and the players and match officials are not allowed to meet anybody. Even, the training sessions before the match are held with every precaution taken care of. 50 percent crowd has been allowed in the ongoing pink-ball Test here at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Highlighting the issue, a GCA official expressed dissatisfaction over the incident and said, “We will look into the matter and we will find out who the fan was. Some sort of action we will take as the matter is serious and safety of everyone is of utmost importance.”
India ended the opening day of the pink-ball Test against England in the driver’s seat as Rohit hit fifty to take the hosts at 99/3. India is trailing by 13 runs in the first innings with seven wickets in the bag.
The BCCI will be more worried about the fact that the same incident happened in the previous game at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
A young fan had climbed the fence and entered the ground before security personnel spotted him. He was handed over to the local police.
