We checked the original tweet and found that the tweet has been posted by an author, historian and sportsman Tom Holland and NOT the actor.

Soon after his tweet, #BoycottSpiderMan started trending on Twitter.

“Oh dear – I seem single-handedly to have destroyed prospects for the next Spider-Man in India,” he tweeted after multiple Indian fans wrongly identified him as the actor who plays Spider-Man.

Moreover, actor Tom Holland’s official Twitter handle is @TomHolland1996.
