After actor Kangana Ranaut rebranded the farmers sitting at Delhi borders as “terrorists” triggering national outrage, a picture of a man in turban helping some people stranded in floodwater is doing the rounds on the internet.
The Facebook post read, ‘We are proud of out terrorists, they reached Uttrakhand yesterday’.
A user shared the post with a caption, ‘Khalsa Aid reaches Uttarkhand…’.

With the help of Google Reverse Image Search, we found the same picture in a report by News 18 dated August 19, 2018. The headline of the report read, ‘Kerala Floods: Khalsa Aid Volunteers Help Flood Victims’
The caption of the picture read, ‘Volunteers of Khalsa Aid assembling essential commodities food for flood-affected victims in chest-deep water. (Image: News18/ Pankaj Tomar)’.
Moreover, we also found that the same picture is a report by The Tribune, dated August 20, 2018.
As per the report, as Kerala reeled under flood, volunteers from the Khalsa Aid International reached the worst-hit areas to rescue of flood victims. The organisation provided help in terms of food, medicines and drinking water supplies. Volunteers also set up langars to provide food to those stranded in the rains
We found various media organisations reporting the service they rendered.
In other news, we found that Khalsa Aid volunteers did reach Uttrakhand for the relief work and to provide essential supplies.
The above information proves that Khalsa Aid deployed volunteers in Uttarakhand in the wake of the glacier burst but the picture in circulation is old and from Kerala.
Hence, the post in question is misleading.
