Sino-Indian disputes can be settled through dialogue: Chinese Envoy to India Sun Weidong

Chinese Ambassador to India Sun Weidong on Wednesday said that the disputes between India and China can be settled through dialogue. These comments come at a time of heightened tensions at the border between the two neighbours.

The Ambassador emphasized that the relations between the two civilizational neighbours shouldn’t be impacted by differences which can be settled through a sustained dialogue.

He also added that the crisis emanating from COVID-19 is a good opportunity for both the nations to work together and cooperate.

Calling upon the youth of both the nations to look at this as an opportunity, he said that “the two nations are opportunities for each other and pose no threat to each other”.

India and China have been involved in a recent standoff at the Line of Actual Control in the Eastern Ladakh sector where China is reported to have marshaled 5,000-plus troops and has also started setting up temporary infrastructure.

Amidst this standoff, the Chinese media reported that certain aircrafts have been positioned in the Western sector covering Ladakh.
