A 72-year-old New York resident was stabbed to death by his 32-year-old son during a Zoom call that had 20 other participants.
After stabbing his father—identified as Dwight Powers—the accused Thomas Scully Powers jumped down the balcony and fled across the Long Island area.

The other participants in the call immediately informed the Police who then arrested the accused. The police said that the suspect had sustained minor injuries and that more information would be provided once he is discharged from the hospital.
Thomas Scully Powers has been charged with second-degree murder. The motive behind the killing has still not been ascertained. Also, it is still not clear as to what the Zoom call was about.
