With the biggest spike of 4,987 new cases n the last 24 hours, the COVID-19 count in India crossed the 90,000-mark on Sunday while the death toll stands at 2,872, even as the country steps into the fourth phase of lockdown.

1. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) issued orders to extend coronavirus-induced lockdown measures till May 31.
2. Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued guidelines on measures to be taken by Ministries/Departments of Government of India, State Governments/UT Governments & State/UT authorities for containment of COVID-19.

3. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman delivered her 5th and final tranche of economic package announcement today.
After focusing on agriculture, migrant workers, farmers, MSMEs and other sectors, today she emphasised on issues like environment, health, education, businesses and COVID-19 and decriminalization of the Businesses Act.

4. Prohibition on domestic passenger flight operations and scheduled international commercial passenger services extended till 31st May 2020: Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA)
5. Maharashtra witnessed sharpest increase in COVID-19 cases with 2,347 new positive cases and 63 deaths reported today in the state. Total 33,053 positive cases have been detected in the state til date. 600 patients discharged today, total 7,688 patients have been discharged till now.
6. Mumbai reported its sharpest increase in COVID-19 with 1,571 new cases and 38 deaths reported today. Total number of cases in the city is now at 19,967, including 5,012 recovered/discharged and 734 deaths.
7. Total 910 positive COVID-19 cases and 14 deaths have been reported till date in Haryana. 562 patients have been cured/discharged till now.
8. 242 new COVID-19 cases and 5 deaths reported in state today, taking total number of cases to 5,202. There are 2,016 active cases now. Death toll stands at 131.
9. 391 new positive cases of COVID-19 reported in Gujarat today. The state tally of positive cases rises to 11,380 including 4499 cured/discharged cases and 659 deaths.
10. Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan extended their state lockdowns till May 31.
