Vande Bharat Mission to operate 149 flights from 31 countries in Phase II starting May 16

Having already flown back over 6,000 Indian nationals who were stranded in foreign lands under the Vande Bharat Mission, the government is planning to launch Phase 2 of the massive repatriation exercise between May 16 and 22.
During Phase 2 of Vande Bharat Mission, 149 flights, including feeder flights, will be deployed to bring back Indians from 31 countries.

The phase two of Vande Bharat mission – meant to bring back Indian citizens stranded abroad due to the lockdown situation necessitated by the coronavirus — will be launched between May 16-22.

The mission will bring back Indians from 31 nations. According to sources, 149 flights, including feeder flights, will be deployed for the mission.

Of these 149 flights, as many as 13 will be from the United States, 11 from UAE, 10 from Canada, 9 each from Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom, 8 each from Malaysia and Oman, 7 each from Kazakhstan and Australia, 6 from Ukraine, Qatar, Indonesia and Russia, 5 from the Philippines, 4 each from France, Singapore, Ireland, Kyrgyzstan, 3 each from Kuwait and Japan, 2 each from Georgia, Germany, Tajikistan, Bahrain and Armenia, and 1 flight each from Thailand, Italy, Nepal, Belarus, Nigeria and Bangladesh.
