Fact Check: Is this video of airport staff manhandling luggage from India?

A video has surfaced on the internet in which some baggage handlers can be seen manhandling the luggage. The video claims to shows a few cargo staffers, hurling luggage at an airport in India.

The caption of the video read: “ये तरीका हॆ भारतीय हवाई कार्गो स्टाफ का यात्री सामान ट्रांसफर करने का
ऐसा स्टाफ दंडित होना चाहिये”

(Translation: This is how the Indian Cargo staff transfer passengers’ luggage. They should be punished.)

Fact Check

When the team at NewsMobile fact-checked the above post, we found that the claim is fake.

When we extracted the keyframes of the video through InVid and put them through Reverse Image Search, we came across a report by South China Morning Post dated September 19, 2018, which had featured the same video.

According to the report, the video shows airline staff hurling passengers’ luggage at Hong Kong International Airport.

Hence, the information proves that the video is not shot at an Indian airport but is from the Hong Kong International Airport.
