Doctor couple helps a foreign national to unite with his family

Date:

Gurugram: A doctor couple managed to unite a Yemen national with his family beating all odds. On April 18, an ambulance of Haryana government got a call about a person lying on roadside near Kadarpur, Gurugram.

Subsequently, he was shifted to Civil Hospital Gurugram, where he was attended by Dr Yogender and it came to notice that he had undergone major neurosurgical surgeries in the recent past. Due to the language barrier, he was unable to communicate.

Due to his hyper-anxious behaviour, the Hospital Authorities considered him as a psychiatric patient. Local police and civil administration were informed to trace his family.

On April 21, the patient wrote something, which the doctor shared with an Urdu translator and it turned out that it was the Arabic language.

With this, he was identified as Yusuf of Yemen nationality. Further Efforts were made by the doctors to locate the concerned Embassy but it went unanswered. He then sought help from his wife Dr Saroj employed in a CGHS dispensary.

Screening the patients’ list, she got in touch with SHO Greater Kailash, who reached out to embassy which was closed.
