Amid the Coronavirus crisis, communities are doing their best to provide assistance in whichever way they can.

Recently, a post started doing the rounds on social media with a claim that Sri Harmandir Sahib i.e the Golden Temple has pledged to bear the cost of the personal protective equipment (PPE) and ventilators required by the state of Punjab.

FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found the claim to be false.

We ran a search using relevant keywords and found reports by some websites but couldn’t find any authentic report by any leading media houses.

NewsMobile then contacted the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, who denied the claim.

Talking to NewsMobile, a member of SGPC said, “This is not true. We are not donating PPEs or ventilators.”
