The horrendous rape and murder of a veterinary doctor in Hyderabad, has left the entire nation shocked. The latest reports say that the four accused, who gang-raped and murdered her, had forcibly poured liquor in her mouth while sexually assaulting her.
The accused even took the unconscious victim to a truck cabin where they raped her again before heading towards Shadnagar town on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
The heinous crime was committed between 9.30 pm and 10.20 pm and her death happened because of asphyxiation as the accused had held her mouth and nose tightly. The charred body of the veterinarian was found under a culvert on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Thursday morning.
Two senior officers investigating the case said that the testimonies by a petrol pump attendant and a tyre mechanic provided leads which helped trace the accused men. On saturday, the accused have been remanded to 14-day judicial custody.
Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has asked officials on Sunday to ensure that the accused are tried in a fast track court.

The unfortunate event has led to a nationwide outrage. During the ongoing winter session of the parliament, Rajya Sabha MP, Jaya Bachchan on Monday said rapists should be brought out in public and lynched.
“The accused in the rape cases should be named and shamed. These kinds of people should be brought out in public and lynched,” the Samajwadi Party legislator lashed out.
During the session, she also questioned the government on what they were doing to tackle the rising crime against women.
“It’s time that the government gives a proper answer on how they have tackled the rape cases. A similar incident happened in Hyderabad a day before the vet was raped,” she said.
Both the houses of the parliament have questioned this case and also the related safety issue of women in the country.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla gave permission to discuss the matter after Question Hour.
In Rajya Sabha, lawmakers across parties called for stricter laws. Chairman of the RS, M Venkaiah Naidu, said a change of mindset is required and not a new bill.
“What is required is not a new bill. What is required is political will, administrative skill, change of mindset and then go for kill of the social evil,” he said.
