The Supreme Court on Saturday delivered the verdict of the much awaited Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi land dispute case and has ordered the Central Government within 3-4 months formulate scheme for setting up of trust and hand over the disputed site to it for construction of temple at the site and a suitable alternative plot of land measuring 5 acres at Ayodhya will be given to Sunni Waqf Board.
The five-judge bench of the Supreme Court, which heard the sensitive case for a marathon 40 days, had concluded the hearing in the case and reserved its verdict on October 16.
The bench, headed by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi and four other judges- Justices Sharad Arvind Bobde, Ashok Bhushan, DY Chandrachud and S Abdul Nazeer delivered the verdict.

The apex court heard a batch of petitions challenging September 30, 2010, Allahabad High Court judgment trifurcating the 2.77 acres of the disputed land at Ayodhya into three equal parts among Ram Lalla, Sunni Waqf Board, and Nirmohi Akhara.
The security has been tightened in every state across the country and section 144 has been imposed in several states including Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Jammu, Madhya Pradesh, etc.
All schools, colleges, educational institutions and training centres will remain closed from 9th November to 11th November in Uttar Pradesh and the institutions will be shut tomorrow in several other states as well. All mobile internet services will remain suspended from 12 AM (08.11.2019) to 12 AM (09.11.2019) in the entire district of Aligarh.
PM Modi, in series of tweets expressed that ‘Whatever decision SC delivers in the Ayodhya case should not be linked with a victory or defeat of anyone.’
