Audi is all set to launch the eight generation of the A6 in India on October 24 and car has received extensive changes inside and out.
The exteriors on the new Audi A6 get major design and styling upgrade, drawing cues from the new A7 and A8, which is evident from the single-frame hexagonal grille, flanked by a set of sharp-looking LED headlamps with LED daytime running lamps as well. The front bumper is beefier and gets subtle chrome detailing as well, making the car look more elegant and classier than before. There is reportedly no long wheelbase version that’s coming to India and the new-gen will come with the standard wheelbase only.
The interiors see some changes with the cabin getting a black panel design with a catchy lounge setting kind of a design. There is a new Multi-Media Interface (MMI) touchscreen in the middle and a 12.3-inch virtual cockpit behind the steering wheel. Audi will also be offering MMI Navigation Plus which will have even more options on the A6. The new-gen Audi A6 gets about 37 driver assistance systems which have been bundled into three packages which are the park assist, city assist and tour assist. All three packages have different driver assistance systems on offer but it remains to be seen as to which packages will be available in India.

The new-gen Audi A6 will be powered by a 2-litre petrol engine which will be BSVI compliant and will as a matter of fact will churn out more than 240 bhp and will develop 370 Nm of torque. This will be mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission and power will be sent to all four wheels owing to the quattro all-wheel drive system.
The new-gen Audi A6 will take on the likes of the BMW 5 Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and the Jaguar XF and the prices are expected to fall in the range of Rs 50 lakh.
