Fact Check: Old photo re-shared claiming to be from Kashmir

Date:

After the scrapping of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, several posts are making rounds on social media claiming to be from the state.

One such is a photograph which is being circulated with a claim attached that says that it represents the state of Kashmir ever since Art 370 were abrogated by the Indian government.

FACT CHECK:

The team of fact-checkers at NewsMobile fact-checked the above photo and found the claim attached to it to be FAKE.

A simple Reverse Image Search on Google revealed that the photograph is OLD. It is from the terror attack in Srinagar in September 2013, in which a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawan was killed.

NewsMobile found this photograph in the archives of The Indian Express.
