This is what Sonakshi Sinha has to say about Shatrughan Sinha quitting BJP

New Delhi: After actor-turned-politician, Shatrughan Sinha, deflected from BJP, Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha, has said that her father should have quit the party long time ago as he and other leaders like veteran leader LK Advani were not getting the respect they deserved.

She said that her father has been a BJP member since the time of late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Advani and he has a lot of respect within the party.

“I feel the entire group hasn’t been given the respect it deserved. I think he has done it a bit too late. He should have done it a long back,” she said.

Her comments come after Shatrughan Sinha, a two-time MP from Patna Sahib, was denied BJP ticket from the constituency in the 17th Lok Sabha election. Replacing Sinha, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has been fielded from Patna Sahib Lok Sabha constituency by the BJP.

Soon after replaced by Prasad, rebel BJP leader Sinha met Congress president Rahul Gandhi and announced his plans of joining the Congress. “Joining will happen soon, we will give you a positive news during Navratri. I will join Congress now,” he said.

Sinha has been critical of PM Narendra Modi-led NDA government in recent times. The frequency of his comments increased in the month of March. He has had joined several opposition rallies.
