IPL 2019: Rahul, Mayank help Kings XI Punjab secure win over Mumbai Indians

Yet again in a thriller, Kings XI Punjab defeated Mumbai Indians by 8 wickets in Mohali on Saturday.

L Rahul hit his first fifty of the season while Chris Gayle and Mayank Agarwal scored 40 and 41 respectively as Kings XI Punjab chased down 177 against Mumbai Indians to win their second match of the 2019 Indian Premier League.

Gayle announced his intentions with two successive sixes off Mitchell McClenaghan – he became the first batsman to hit 300 sixes in the Indian Premier League – no other batsman has even hit 200 sixes in the tournament’s 12-year history.

Gayle was looking very dangerous and hit 4 sixes in the innings before being caught out by Hardik Pandya off the left-arm spin of Krunal Pandya.

Kings XI Punjab: 177 for two in 18.4 overs (K L Rahul 71 not out; Krunal Pandya 2/43).
