Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly and BJP leader, Pramod Sawant took oath as the new Chief Minister of Goa in a late night ceremony on March 19.
The oath took place at 2 am at Raj Bhavan in Panaji. It was administered by Goa Governor Mridula Sinha.
In addition, 11 other leaders, took oath as Cabinet ministers. Sudhin Dhavalikar of the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) and Vijay Sardesai of the Goa Forward Party chief took oath as the new deputy chief ministers to Sawant.

The Chief Minister’s post went vacant following the death of former defence minister and Goa CM Manohar Parrikar on March 17. He was suffering from advanced pancreatic cancer since February last year. He breathed his last at his private residence near Panaji.
He was cremated with full state honours in presence of family, top leaders and thousands of followers at Miramar beach on Monday.
Sawant represents the Sanquelim constituency in the Goa and is a member of the BJP. He is an Ayurveda practitioner by profession.
