Sensex, Nifty gain almost 1% on global cues

Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty gained almost 1 per cent each on Monday, ending at  36,213.38 and 10,880.10 respectively led by gains in Infosys, TCS, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and ITC.

Asian shares scaled a 5-month peak on Monday after US President Donald Trump confirmed he would delay a planned increase on Chinese imports as talks between the two sides were making ‘substantial progress,’ Reuters reported.
