Tennis player Naomi Osaka splits with coach Sascha Bajin

Two weeks after, world no 1 Naomi Osaka secured the Australian Open title, she announced her split with her coach Sascha Bajin.

Sascha Bajin, who recently won WTA coach of the year, has helped Osaka to two straight major titles.

The Japanese tennis player took to her Twitter handle to make the announcement, stating “Hey everyone, I will no longer be working together with Sascha. I thank him for his work and wish him all the best in the future.”

Bajin responded with gratitude to the Japanese player, saying: “I wish you nothing but the best as well,” he wrote. “What a ride that was. Thank you for letting me be part of this.”

He helped Osaka win her first WTA title at the BNP Paribas Open in March 2018, after which she went on to win the 2018 US Open title and 2019 Australian Open.

The WTA’s coach of the year 2018, has previously worked with Serena Williams, Victoria Azarenka and Caroline Wozniacki.
