The income tax department, on Thursday, carried out raids on a few top Kannada film stars and movie producers, the officials said.
Sons of Kannada thespian late Rajkumar, Shiva Rajkumar and Puneet Rajkumar, and leading producer Rockline Venkatesh, were amongst the ones who were raided, the I-T officials said in media reports.
Film producers ‘Rockline’ Venkatesh, C R Manohar and Vijay Kiraganduru’s residences were raided.

The raids were carried out across 23 locations in the state and involved around 200 sleuths.
The raids on one of the places, the I-T sources said, unearthed a huge cache of cash and gold ornaments. I-T officials had brought with them a goldsmith to evaluate the ornaments.
Shivarajkumar, nicknamed ‘Hat trick star’, is the son-in-law of former chief minister late S Bangarappa. Puneeth Rajkumar is widely known for his role in the Kannada movie ‘Bettada Hoovu’ as a child artist and had won a National Film Award.

Sudeep, who was the anchor of the Kannada version of ‘Big Boss’, was is popular for his role in the movie ‘Eega’ (Makkhi in Hindi) and ‘Baahubali’.
Rockline Venkatesh, who is a relative of Congress MLA and film producer Munirathna, had co-produced the Hindi movie “Bajrangi Bhaijaan”. While, Vijay is the producer of the latest blockbuster movie ‘KGF’, starring Yash, Srinidhi Shetty and Anant Nag. C R Manohar has his own production house called ‘Tanvi Films’ and has produced Kannada and Telugu movies, the latest being ‘The Villain’, starring Shivarajkumar, Sudeep and Mithun Chakraborty.
