Licious raises $25 million in Series D round

The new seafood and meat delivery company, Licious made an announcement yesterday about it raising $25 million in the Series D round by Nichirei Corp along with 3one4 Capital, Bertelsmann India Investments, Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia and India, UCLA, and Sistema Asia Fund.

According to reports, the company said that it has plans to begin operations across seven cities such as Mumbai, Pune, and Chennai by next year and the accumulated funds would be used to strengthen the market presence further as well as the supply chain.

Abhay Hanjura and Vivek Gupta are the founders of the venture that was started in the year 2015. The company functions on a model that enables the smooth flow of goods from the farm to consumer called the farm-to-fork model.

Currently, Licious operates in Delhi NCR, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. In September as well, the company had raised $25 million in the Series C Round from the same group of investors.
