Action will be taken against those who disobeyed Supreme Court order on Diwali

Date:

Abhishek Trimukhe, the Deputy Commissioner of Mumbai Police said that action will be taken against the people who refuted the order of the Supreme Court for bursting firecrackers before or on Diwali.

He also said that the overall response received by the police was much better as compared to the earlier years and the apex court order was followed by most of the people.

The rise in the smoke and fumes in the air all over the country has led the court to announce immediate measures to handle the menace. The Supreme Court’s division bench led by Arjan Kumar Sikri fixed the timings for bursting crackers on Diwali from 8.00 PM to 10.00 PM and issued guidelines on the type of crackers and ways to burst them.
