Rajkummar Rao to play the lead in Karan Johar’s ‘Dostana 2’?

Rajkumar Rao is all set to play the lead role in Karan Johar’s Dostana 2. Thanks to the astounding success of his last release ‘Stree’, 2018 turned out to be a phenomenal year for Rajkumar Rao.

Rao’s first Dharma film, a sequel to the hit romantic comedy that starred Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra.

While we all know that John and Abhishek featured as friends pretending to be gay in the 2008 flick, in the upcoming sequel Rao will be seen playing a character he has not done before. Rajkkumar is currently busy with the shooting for ‘Made In China’.

Up until now, the audience has witnessed Rao’s performance in unconventional roles different from that of the mainstream Bollywood “Hero” as we know it, with movies such as ‘Stree’, ‘Newton’, ‘Queen’, ‘Aligarh’, etc. This shall be his first venture with Dharma Productions.

Rao bagged an Oscar nomination for his performance in ‘Newton’ in the category Best Foreign Language Film, which was India’s official entry into the Oscars.
