Are you stupid? Increase your price: Varun Dhawan on B’wood pay scales

Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt started their career together with ‘Student Of The Year’ and ended up becoming best friends, at the first it came out that both were dating but they rubbished all the rumours. Varun and Alia later did two more movies together.

The actor is now busy promoting his upcoming movie ‘Sui Dhaaga’ and made an appearance recently on Anupam Chopra’s show on which the actor spoke about why it is important to give female actors their dues and why they need to be taken seriously equally as the male actors.

Varun spoke about how the films he has done with Alia, equally belonged to her and how even she was responsible for its hit. Varun said, “Why has it taken the trade and the industry as a whole until a Raazi to realize that Alia Bhatt is a big star. Be it Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, and even 2 States were all hits and Alia Bhatt was just a responsible for its success as I was or Arjun was”.

The actor also talked about the times he has spoken to Alia and counselled her to raise her fees. “I would always tell Alia, what are you doing? You take very little money. Are you stupid? Increase your price.”
