Sensex extends record run ends at 38,278.75; Nifty settles above 11,550

The 30-share BSE Sensex closed 330.87 points up at 38,278.75, on Monday while the Nifty 50 ended 81 points higher at 11,551.75.

In intraday trade, the Sensex surged 392.81 points to a fresh record high of 38,340.69 and the Nifty 50 soared 94.55 points to an all-time high of 11,565.30. The rupee along with Asian currencies strengthened against the US dollar over optimism that trade tensions between US and China will ease after planned talks due this week.
