English Vinglish actress Sujata Kumar passes away

English Vinglish actress Sujata Kumar, died after battling cancer. The news of her death was confirmed by her sister, Suchitra Krishnamoorthi, who is also an actor and singer. In a series of tweets she gave the news and told the cremation place.

In another tweet, she wrote “We are bidding our last farewell to Sujata Kumar at Juhu crematorium, Vile Parle west, near Pawan Hans today, 20th August 2018 at 11 AM.” However, she deleted the tweet later.

According to a report in Spotboye, the actress was admitted at the Lilavati hospital, Mumbai and had fourth stage cancer, which metastised. Her condition deteriorated and later had multiple organ failures.

Sujata Kumar has done a few serials before appearing in English Vinglish as Sridevi’s elder sister. She later appeared in Anil Kapoor starrer ’24’ as Meghna Singhania. She has worked in a couple of other Bollywood films like Karan Johar’s Gori Tere Pyar Mein and Aanand L Rai’s Raanjhanaa, both in 2013. She also appeared in TV commercials.
