While expressing concern over the increasing rape cases in India, Supreme Court on Monday said that a woman is raped “left, right and centre” and asked all the kinds of media- print, electronic and social media to not use or publish pictures of the rape survivors in blur or even morphed form.

The Apex Court also said no to interview the minor rape survivors as it creates a very bad mental impact. It said that survivors of child sex abuse can only be interviewed by members of National Commission For Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) and State Commissions For Protection of Child Rights in presence of counselors.
The top court also said that the Delhi Commission for Women should also not interfere in the Bihar shelter home case and no politics to be played in the case.
Earlier in the day, a bench comprising justices M B Lokur, Deepak Gupta, and K M Joseph came down heavily on the Bihar government for funding the NGO which ran the shelter home in Muzaffarpur where girls were allegedly sexually abused.
The bench, during the hearing in the morning, referred to National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data and said that every six hours, a woman is raped in India. TISS also conducted a research on shelter homes in India and said that out of 110 shelter homes, 15 shelter homes are a concern.

An FIR was lodged against Brajesh Thakur, including 11 others on May 31 and the probe is given to the CBI.
