The 30-share BSE Sensex, hit a record high for the third consecutive session to end at 36,984.64, up 126.41 points or 0.34% on Thursday while the Nifty 50 closed up 35.30 points or 0.32% at 11,167.30, on expiry of July Futures and Options (F&O) contracts.
The BSE benchmark index took only 13 trading sessions to jump from 36,000 to 37,000.
The Sensex and Nifty hit life-time highs of 37,061 and 11,185 during the session respectively. It was led banking stocks and reporting of strong earnings by more companies along with easing of trade war concerns between the US and EU.
