Airbus, a known planemaker of Europe has revealed the first look of its BelugaXL aircraft and yes, the plane looks just like a whale. So now, get ready to fly on a whale’s back in the new aircraft.
The first picture of the aircraft was unveiled on the Twitter handle of Airbus and its press release stated that 20,000 employees of Airbus voted out of six options for the new shape and design of the BelugaXL aircraft among which the ‘smiley Beluga whale’ was also included.
This new plane is six metres in length, one metre in width and holds a capacity of six tons which includes the passenger capacity.
In a further statement, Airbus said that the first ground test of the BelugaXL aircraft will happen soon after which the first flight will be ready to take off. The estimated launch period of the aircraft is scheduled to be mid-July.
