Salman Khan, the Bollywood superstar, is planning to start a chain of cinema halls – Salman Talkies – where tickets will more affordable than the multiplexes.
Construction of the first theatre has started on the outskirts of Mumbai. “This chain adds another aspect to my portfolio,” Salman told Mumbai Daily.

Salman’s motive is to lower the rates to watch a movie in theatre. The tickets will be free for children with unprivileged backgrounds. The theatres will be located in the smaller towns on the outskirts of Mumbai.
The actor has been in the news for his other social initiatives like supporting child labour campaigns, donating bone marrow, creating ‘being human’, donating a lot to those in need.

He also turned distributor and lyricist with Race 3 and has now has moved on to start a theatre chain which will sell tickets at subsidised rates.
Meanwhile, Salman Khan is has ‘Dabangg 3’ with Prabhudeva and ‘Bharat’ with Ali Abbas Zafar in the pipeline as well.
