Mohammad Ashfaq hailing from Bihar broke his Roza (Ramazan fast) and saved a 2-day old baby girl’s life. Ashfaq donated blood to SSB jawan Ramesh Singh’s newborn daughter. Singh is currently posted in Arunachal Pradesh.
A social media post does have an impact on people and it isn’t difficult to find a donor for a rare blood group because of its reach.
Ramesh Singh’s wife, Aarti Kumari, gave birth to her daughter in a private nursing home in Darbhanga. But the health of the newborn was critical.

As the blood group of the newborn baby girl was O negative (a rare blood group), the hospital was not able to arrange the blood needed. However, the family members went on and posted on social media regarding the need for blood.
Ashfaq came across the post and contacted the family immediately through Facebook.
When Afhfaq reached the hospital, the doctors told him that blood couldn’t be drawn without him eating a meal. Ashfaq, then, decided to go with doctor’s opinion and ate a meal in the hospital.
Ashfaq told ANI, “I thought saving a life is more important, knowing that she is the daughter of a security personnel motivated me more.”
“I can observe Roza on some other day also but I am proud that I could save a life. I am happy that Allah chose me to save the life of the baby and Idon’t care whether the baby is a Hindu or Muslim”, said Ashfaq.
