Farmer’s daughter bags 23rd rank in UPSC

The Civil Services Exams have always thrown up surprises and this year is no different. Tapasya Parihar, from Narsinghpur district, Madhya Pradesh has shown India that a farmer’s daughter has what it takes. She bagged the 23rd All India rank in the Civil services exam 2017 conducted by the Union Public Services Commission (UPSC).

The results were declared last evening.

Tapasya who cleared the attempt on her second try, is a law graduate from India Law Society’s law college in Pune, Maharastra. She did her schooling at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Narisinghpur. She prepared for the UPSC examination in Delhi.

Tapasya giving the entire credit of her success to her father Vishwas and her mother. She said that her family had always been supportive and never said ‘no’ to her wanting to study. It was because of their support that she could bag this achievement.

Her success mantra is, ‘thorough command over her subjects’. “I have not been an extra-ordinary student but always believed in hard work. I always tried to thoroughly command the subject I studied. This was the reason behind my success,” she told the media.
