Markets end lower, Nifty below 10,600; Airtel up 3%

The  30-share S&P BSE Sensex ended lower at 34,501.27, down 115.37 points on April 25, while the broader Nifty50 index settled at 10,570.55, down 44 points on weaker global cues. The rupee was at a 13-month low of 66.83 against the dollar. Traders were also wary ahead of April month derivatives expiry tomorrow.

Bharti Airtel rose 3%, after the company’s fourth quarter results beat expectations of a loss and as it approved a merger of its mobile masts unit with Indus Towers.
