Every year on 7th April world celebrates World Health Day. This day is celebrated under the sponsorship of World Health Organization (WHO). This day is celebrated to mark WHO’s founding and is seen as an opportunity by the organization to draw attention to a subject of major importance to global health each year.
History
WHO held its first World Health Assembly in 1948, and in that assembly it was decided to celebrate 7th April as World Health Day. Later it was adopted from the year 1950.

Every year, a different theme is selected for this day to recognize each issue related to health and related to its significance at the present time. This year the theme of World Health Day is “Universal Health Coverage- everyone, everywhere”. The theme is aimed at ensuring that everyone and everywhere can access essential quality health services without facing financial hardship.

This year it is WHO’s 70th anniversary.
Health is a matter of concern for every age group and sex. People should take care of their health as they take care of their baby. As it is said, Health is wealth. So if you are not healthy, then there can be no wealth for you as well.
There are several things which every individual should keep in mind related to their health.
• Drinking lots of water should be of priority.
• Exercise is essential, not only it keeps you fit but it also makes you healthy mentally.
• Sleeping well is another important keynote. Make sure you take 7-8 hours of sound sleep every day.
• Meditation heals you internally and externally. It keeps you healthy and calm from within.
• Make sure you avoid as much processed food as possible. Eat seasonal fruits and green vegetables. And never skip breakfast.
