This is how Rahul Gandhi would have implemented demonetisation

Date:

Congress president Rahul Gandhi held a gathering of Indian diaspora on Saturday and said how he would have implemented demonitisation. The answer Gandhi gave may not be what you had expected.

Speaking to an audience in Malaysia, Gandhi gave an answer to someone who asked how he would have rolled out the note ban. His answer was opposed to how it actually was implemented.

“If I was the Prime Minister, and someone had given me a file with demonetisation written on it, I would have thrown it in the dustbin,” exclaimed Gandhi.

“Out through the door and into the junkyard, because that’s what I think should be done with demonetisation,” he added.

Gandhi and the Congress party have requently slammed Modi government for implementing the note ban, with the former even terming the move a “tragedy.”

His party observed the first anniversary of the note ban as ‘Black Day’ across India.
On November 8, 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 would cease to be legal tender.
