An Amsterdam-bound flight from Dubai was forced to land in an emergency for a strange reason. Dutch daily De Telegraaf reports that four men were deplaned after they got into a fight.
De Telegraaf reports that the Amsterdam-bound flight from Dubai was forced to land in an emergency due to a passenger’s continuous flatulence that led to a fight in mid-air.
Flight number HV6902 of Transavia Airlines made the emergency unplanned landing in Vienna following a fight between an elderly man who had an uncontrolable flatulence problem, due to which fellow passenger complained to the elderly man about the smell issue.
The fellow passenger also complained to the flight crew and urged the man to refrain from farting. Nevertheless, the old man couldn’t stop farting despite many requests from both the passengers and crew. It could not be said with certainty that if he was suffering from a medical condition or not.
The old man was requested several times to control himself, but he just couldn’t and continued to produce loud gas emissions. Thus the situation worsened, and the pilot was forced to make an emergency landing.
Austrian police boarded the plane in Vienna and took the four men involved in their possession and took them off the plane. However, the police made no arrests since none of the detained passengers had meddled any Austrian laws.
One of the flight passengers implied that they didn’t know what was going on but it was all crazy. She added that we didn’t even aware as to why the two men were involved in the situation. She went on to say that it was just bad luck that they landed up in the same row as them and they did not do anything.
A spokesman for the airline said that our crew makes sure to provide a safe flight to the passengers. When there is some risk for the passengers, the crew intervenes into the situation. The spokesman added that people of our crew are trained for that and they know their limitations well.
