Amazon, Facebook award medical app of the year to DocsApp

Date:

DocsApp, a mobile app that connects patients to specialist doctors via chat or call in less than 30 minutes, has been declared as the medical app of the year in the emerging apps category.

The medical app startup won the award in the medical category of the AWS Mobility awards, which were presented by Amazon in association with Facebook, Sequoia India and Intel. Industry leaders like Anandmoy Roychowdhary (Sequoia), Ravi Gururaj (Qikpod) among others were on the jury.

“This award is the reflection of the remarkable bond between our 1 million users and us. We’ve consoled every cry in the wee hours of the night, we’ve lent a helping hand to people far and wide, we’ve connected ailing patients to the top doctors in the country,” said CEO DocsApp, Satish Kannan.

“We have created a safe space for people to discuss their pain, fear and doubt. It truly is gratifying to be able to touch so many lives, heal so many ailments and ease the pain of those in despair. We look at this award as the beginning of many more great victories,” added Kannan.

DocsApp has clocked over one million installs on the Google Playstore and has consistently held its number one position on the store.

The app is growing at a rapid pace with a 25 percent month-on-month growth and has established itself as the largest online hospital in the country. Specialist doctors are available 24×7 and a user can even order medicines and book lab tests using the app.
