Arunachal Police intensify search operations for Sukhoi-30 crew

Date:

Arunachal Pradesh Home Parliamentary Secretary Pani Taram on Monday said that search operations have been intensified on the ground to locate the missing crew members of the crashed Sukhoi-30 fighter jet.

The wreckage of the missing SU-30 MKI fighter jet was found on Friday after four days of intensive search operations by Indian Air Force, Indian Army and State administration.

Director General of Police Sandeep Goel states that even though the wreckage, along with the black box, of the aircraft were recovered the fate of the crew was still unknown. Forces deployed in West Kameng district were asked to increase their search efforts.

DIG Tusar Taba also confirmed intensive search operations, saying the senior officers have been constantly monitoring. IGP Navin Payeng stated that the state police had deployed its forces since the news of the missing aircraft broke.

The SU-30 MKI jet, with two pilots on board, had gone missing on Tuesday shortly after taking off from the Tezpur Salonibari Air Force station on a routine training sortie.
