CPI slams Andhra Pradesh Govt. for promoting Bahubali 2 over small budget films

Date:

Criticising heavily the AP government for permitting screening of six shows of Baahubali-2 in theatres, CPI state secretary K Ramakrishna has said that Naidu‘s government has become the facilitator only for corporate firms and has neglected the small budget cinema.
Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, Ramakrishna criticised the government for not supporting the small-budget films.

“Instead of playing the role of a facilitator for low-budget films and those which will be useful for the public, the Chandrababu’s government is only trying to give importance to corporate firms,” he said.

It may be recalled that the home department on Saturday, following a request from the distributors of Baahubali-2 film, permitted the screening of the magnum opus from 7 am to 2.30 pm from April 28 to May 7.

“The government waiving off entertainment tax for Gautamiputra Satakarni, the film of CM’s relative N Balakrishna, is an example of the biased approach of the government,” he said.
