The Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore has been ranked the best educational institute in India as ranked by the HRD ministry. The overall rankings are as below:

The best colleges in India are:

1. Miranda House, Delhi
2. Loyola College, Chennai
3. Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), Delhi

The best universities in India are:

1. IISc, Bangalore
2. Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi
3. Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi

The best in management are:

1. IIM Ahmedabad
2. IIM Bangalore
3. IIM Calcutta

St Stephen’s College, Hindu College, Delhi School of Economics, Ramjas College and Hansraj College, didn’t apply for the annual rankings. These institutes were marked on the basis of teaching, learning resources, research, graduation outcomes (employability), outreach/ social and gender inclusivity and perception.
