Delhi Police busts illegal casino operating in Vasant Kunj

\ New Delhi, Oct 28 (PTI) Ahead of Diwali, Delhi Police\busted an illegal casino operating in south Delhi\\’s Vasant\Kunj area and arrested eight persons including four girls.\ Gurgaon-based businessmen Tusar Baweja, Pawan Sharma,\Manish Verma have been arrested along with Gulshan Arora, who\is the mastermind and organizer, DCP(South) Ishwar Singh, said\today.\ Four girls who were earlier working in casinos in Goa\were employed here, have also been arrested, the DCP said.\ Acting on a tip-off, a team from Vasant Kunj (South)\police station conducted a raid in which they seized three\large casino tables, stake money worth Rs 43,500 in cash,\2,968 gambling tokens and 85 bottles of liquor and beer and\seven packets of playing cards, said the officer.\ \\"Two separate cases under relevant sections of Delhi\Public Gambling Act and Delhi Excise Act have been\registered,\\" said Singh.\ The premises where the casino was being played was rented\by Arora, who is a resident of Gurgaon last month for an\initial period of three months at Rs 2.5 lakh, he said.\ Police will try to ascertain whether the landlady of the\property, Madhu Bala, knew about the casino running at her\property, he added.
