Telangana\\’s revenue from minor minerals up 69 pc to Rs 357 cr

\ Hyderabad, Oct 26 (PTI) Telangana Mines Department has\registered a record 69 per cent growth in revenue from minor\minerals other than sand in the first half of this fiscal, the\state government said today.\ The growth in income from sand is also witnessing a\similar trend, it added.\ Telangana Mines Minister K T Rama Rao, who held a\meeting with officials, said revenue from minor minerals\during April to September this year stood at Rs 357.41 crore\against Rs 211.4 crore in the corresponding period last year.\ Revenue from sand seigniorage fees was recorded at Rs\183.7 crore during the two quarters (April-September) as\compared to Rs 117.14 crore in the same period last year.\ The minister spoke to the CMD of state-run Singareni\Collieries, N Sridhar, and told him to release pending dues of\Rs 1,000 crore on royalty payable to the government.\ Sridhar told the minister that the pending dues would\be paid as early as possible, according to an official\statement.\ Rao also asked the officials to prepare guidelines for\offering performance based incentives to employees of the\department, the release added.
