All Clear Signal given after reports of Radioactive Leak at IGI Airport

New Delhi: The doubted radioactive leak at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport was very little and developed from cancer medicines that were being carried by an Air France Aircraft. The all-clear signal has been given by the National Disaster Management Authority, an official said.

Executives of the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board, who were examining the suspicious package, verified that it carried a low-intensity radioactive element used for cancer medicines.

Officials also stated that they are still testing the package in order to validate the leak is radioactive or not. It is not dangerous if a reliable distance of approx 3 meters is maintained from the package.
