Cong stands firmly with the government on Pak issue: Salman Khurshid

Panaji: A week after the deadly on the Army camp in Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir in which 18 soldiers of Indian Army were killed, Narendra Modi government assured action against the responsible powers behind the attacks. Clearing its stand on the issue, Congress on Sunday made it clear that it is firm with Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government and invited the government to seek oppositions’ support.

Talking exclusively to NewsMobile Editor-in-Chief, Saurabh Shukla, Congress leader and former External Affairs Minister, Salman Khurshid said, “There is no disagreement in the parliament on the issue of Pakistan and PoK, and there couldn’t be any kind of disagreement in the world on that.”

On been asked on whether government should act quickly and discuss the strategies, Khurshid said, “They don’t have to disclose details, but I think it’s good for them if they seek support, they will get support anyway, and to give the world a message that we are politically united, it would be an advantage.”

Answering to the question on whether the congress is with the government to reply to Pakistan and avenge the death of 18 brave soldiers, former EAM said: “Absolutely, there can be no question on that, no qualification, no conditions, there may be we (Congress) want to ask a question on what happened o far, but that’s not the question that will be asked today,it’s a question that ha an appropriate time.”
