Mumbai City FC unbeaten in pre-season tour of Dubai

Mumbai, Sep 21 (PTI) Mumbai City FC returned home todayafter completing a 35-day pre-season tour to Dubai to prepareitself for the upcoming season 3 of Indian Super Leaguefootball. The club played four friendly matches during their timein the UAE against top Emirates teams and remained unbeaten bywinning two games and drawing the rest, according to a mediarelease. The first match was played against Al Ahli, the reigningUAE Pro League Champs and Asian Champions League runners-up inwhich the Mumbai outfit came out on top scoring two goals viaLeo Costa and Lucian Goian without reply. They then drew 1-1 with Al Wasl, a well-supportedDubai-based team and then won the third match against theDubai Cultural Sports Club, UAE’s first division team fromDubai 2-0 with goals coming from Matias Defederico and GastonSangoy. The fourth and final match against Al Arabi was drawn 2-2with goals for Mumbai coming from Gerson Viera and BoithangHaokip. Commenting on the tour, head coach Alexandre Guimaraessaid, "The team is returning to Mumbai unbeaten which is avery good thing. We played some tough opponents, in really hotconditions, and the boys pulled through when needed. To behere for 35 days has really helped the team understand me andeach other better."
