Justice Alok Aradhe takes oath as judge of J&K court

Srinagar, Sep 20 (PTI) Justice Alok Aradhe, a seniorjudge of Madhya Pradesh High Court, today took oath as judgeof Jammu and Kashmir High Court, taking its working strengthto 10, including Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar. Chief Justice Vasanthakumar administered the oath ofoffice to Justice Aradhe at a ceremony held at High Courthere, an official spokesman said. He said the notification received from the Union Law andJustice Ministry and the Letter of Authorisation by theGovernor of Jammu and Kashmir, authorising Chief JusticeVasanthakumar to administer the Oath of Office to the Judgewas read by Register General High Court Ashok Kumar Koul. Justice Aradhe, 52, was enrolled as Advocate on July 12,1988. He practiced on civil and constitutional, arbitration andcompany matters in the High Court of Madhya Pradesh atJabalpur and was appointed as Additional Judge of the HighCourt of Madhya Pradesh on December 29, 2009 and PermanentJudge on February 15, 2011. Justice Aradhe said "the legal system can workeffectively if there is cooperation between Bench and the barand hoped that with the cooperation from the bar he willperform his duties to the best of his abilities." The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Justice MohammadYaqoob Mir, Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar, Justice AliMohammad Magrey, sitting Judges, Advocate General JehangirIqbal, Chief Secretary B R Sharma, Director General Police KRajendra, DGP (Law and Order) S P Vaid, DivisionalCommissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan and Inspector generalof Police (Kashmir) Syed Javaid Mujtaba Gillani.
