Cong leaders to reach out to people in customised mini-buses

Chandigarh, Sep 20 (PTI) Congress leaders will try toreach out to voters in the state as part of its latestcampaign to give push to the party ahead of the next year’sassembly polls. The Congress leaders will cover 13 Lok Sabhaconstituencies in ‘Punjab Congress Express’ during the’Congress Liyao, Punjab Bachao’ campaign. The routes and meeting points for all the constituencieshave been strategically designed to meet maximum number ofpeople, from all walks of life, party sources said. Starting from September 26, the 37-day long campaign hasbeen strategised to reach out to people at grassroot levelmore effectively by holding smaller meetings of about1,000-1,500 people each at four different points in aconstituency, they further said. The party aims to reach out to almost 1.50 crore peoplethrough this campaign. "Through Punjab Congress Express, we will interactwith people of Punjab through nukkad meetings and explain thevision of the party," said Senior Congress leader SunilJakhar. The routes have been mapped in a way that at any givenpoint in time each leader can be traced to the exact locationin Punjab. "An extensive network of PPCC officials and I-PAC team,which has designed this latest campaign, and volunteers wouldbe troubleshooting real time to ensure that movement of PunjabExpress is free of any obstacles," an I-PAC team member said. This campaign is in addition to ‘Halke Vich Captain’programme as Punjab Congress chief Captain Amarinder Singhwill continue to hold interactive sessions with people indifferent constituencies.
