New Delhi/Uri: Day after 17 Army personals were killed in the suicide attack in Uri of Jammu and Kashmir the Army is going to turn the heat on Pakistan along the 778-km Line of Control (LoC) with concentrated artillery barrages, sniping and other operations.
Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will, in a short while, meet Parrikar, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to discuss the Uri attack and the government’s response.
A team of the National Investigation Agency or NIA will reach Uri on Monday and begin its inquiry into the deadliest attack on the army in 14 years.

India in clear words blamed Pakistan for the attack. Pakistan is a “terrorist state” and should be isolated, India on Sunday said launching a scathing attack on Islamabad in the wake of a dastardly terror strike at an army camp in Jammu and Kashmir in which 17 soldiers were killed.

In a strongly worded statement, Home Minister Rajnath Singh said the terrorists who carried out the attack in the Army Brigade Headquarters in Uri were highly trained and heavily armed and vowed to hunt down those behind it
Expressing his deep disappointment with Pakistan’s continued and direct support to terrorism and terrorist groups, he said, “Pakistan is a terrorist state and it should be identified and isolated as such”.
Meanwhile, Pakistan rubbished India’s allegations as “baseless and irresponsible”.
In a statement on Monday, Pakistan’s foreign ministry said it noted “with serious concern the recent spate of vitriolic and unsubstantiated statements from the Indian civil and military leadership.”

Minister of State for Home, Kiren Rijiju, responded: “Whether Pakistan accepts or denies doesn’t really matter. We should not pay any attention to what Pakistan says.”
While Prime Minister Narendra Modi warned that “those behind the despicable attack will not go unpunished,” Home Minister Rajnath Singh said: “Pakistan is a terrorist state and it should be identified and isolated as such.”
Taking a tough stance against the terrorists involved in Uri attack, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Sunday instructed the army to take firm action against those responsible.

“The supreme sacrifice of 17 brave soldiers will not go in vain. My salute to them. Reviewed situation in Kashmir following Uri attack with Army Chief & Commanders. Instructed to take firm action against those responsible,” the defence minister tweeted after his Srinagar visit.
