Piano teacher arrested for sexually assaulting minor student

New Delhi, Sep 11 (PTI) A 40-year-old piano teacher hasbeen arrested in southeast Delhi’s Kalkaji area for sexuallyassaulting his seven-year-old student over a period of twomonths, police said today. The victim, who is a resident of Govindpuri Extension,had been learning to play piano from the accused, Ravi Kumar,for the last two years, a senior police officer said. The assault began over two months back and the girl wasbearing it silently till yesterday when she confided in herfather about the incident, who filed a case against Kumar,added the officer. The girl told her father that she didn’t want to go tothe piano class but he couldn’t understand the reason for herrefusal, police said. A case under section 376 IPC (rape) and relevant sectionsof the POCSO Act was registered and the accused was arrestedfrom his Kalkaji home, police said.
