Nupur Talwar released on parole

Ghaziabad, Sep 5 (PTI) Nupur Talwar, serving life sentencefor the murder of her daughter Aarushi, was today released onparole for three weeks from Dasna jail here. According to Jailor RB Yadav, as per orders of theAllahabad High Court, she was released from the prison at 7.20pm. In July, Nupur had pleaded before the High Court forparole as her ailing mother needed medical attention. The court had accepted her plea on August 29 and grantedher three weeks’ parole. For the last few days, the paperwork related to her parolewas going on. The order for her parole was today sent to the prisonauthorities after completion of formalities. In May 2008, 14-year-old Aarushi and the domestic help ofthe Talwar household, Hemraj (45), were found murdered attheir residence in Noida. A court in Uttar Pradesh subsequently held Nupur and herhusband Rajesh Talwar, both dentists, guilty in the doublemurder case and sentenced them to life imprisonment.
